You could say Nicole Blais knows Head Start well, from her childhood, as a program participant, to her 30-year career with the early-childhood organization, including her role, since 2021, as CEO — and her honor this past spring as the Massachusetts Head Start Association Leader of the Year.

In the September 28 installment of BusinessTalk, BusinessWest Editor Joe Bednar talks with Nicole about why Head Start's services are more critical than ever, what it's like to work at HCS Head Start, why a federal push to alter oversight and performance standards concerns her, and much more.
