As a busy caregiver we know it can be hard to do it all, that’s why today, on World Password Day, we wanted to share a couple quick ways to keep your online information more secure.1) Use a Password Manager: This is a game-changer for anyone with more than one password to remember (which is all of us!). A password manager stores all your passwords in one secure place, which means you only need to remember ONE master password.2) Create Strong, Unique Passwords: It SEEMS obvious, but is often overlooked. By not using easily guessable passwords (like "123456" or "password") you’ll be less at risk. It’s recommended to use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols; as well as to use a unique password for each account to prevent a single breach from compromising all your accounts. If it seems like a lot to remember, no worries – see tip #1 😊. 3) Educate Your Family: Teach the kids about the importance of online security. Make it a family practice to discuss what makes a strong password and why we shouldn't share our passwords with others, not even close friends. Also, SUPER important… Be Aware of Phishing Attempts! These can be via email or text so educate yourself and the family. Don’t just click and always verify the authenticity of requests for personal information or passwords, especially if they seem suspicious or too good to be true.Commit to taking these small steps towards securing your online presence… trust us, it WILL be time and effort well spent. ...
